1970’s self titled first album from jazzrock band If opened with the great track I’m Reaching Out On All Sides, and it proved to be a worthy marker for the rest of the album and for all the albums that succeeded it, all of them pretty good records. Unfortunately, 1975 saw the release of their last album when they finally broke up.

Jazz violinist Jean-Luc Ponty was at one time in Frank Zappa’s band but shortly before he joined he recorded an album of Zappa’s music called King Kong: Jean-Luc Ponty Plays The Music Of Frank Zappa released in 1970. The Idiot Bastard Son is a track on the album which was produced by Zappa himself.

Flock’s violinist Jerry Goodman joined the Mahavishnu Orchestra after the demise of Flock. All the tracks on Dinosaur Swamps are good it was difficult to choose just one. Their first self titled LP was good as well.
